5.5英寸觸控屏
作為三星GALAXY Note的更新換代產品，GALAXY Note2代也同樣準備在觸控屏規格上大做文章，包括觸控屏尺寸和分辨率都會得到同步提升。根據海外媒體gsmarena援引內部人士獨家披露的消息顯示，三星GALAXY Note2代已經確定將會使用5.5英寸的觸控屏，並且所支持的分辨率也將提升至WSXGA+ (1680×1050像素)規格，其像素密度則會達到360ppi。
不僅如此，三星GALAXY Note2代在外形設計上還會藉鑑三星GALAXY SII I的設計靈感，並且雖然使用更大尺寸的觸控屏，但其機身寬度較之過去卻會有所減少，將會為用戶帶來更好的持握手感。不過，該機是否會使用過去傳聞的所謂UMP柔性屏幕則沒有確切的消息。
而為了獲得更流暢的操控速度，三星還可能會為該機配備了全新架構的獵戶座Exynos 5250四核處理器，其特色是基於Cortex-A15核心和使用了新款GPU Mali-T604，在性能表現上將得到大幅度提升。
除此之外，三星GALAXY Note2代還會將內置攝像頭升級為1200萬像素，並且會通過使用更好的傳感器來改進拍照效果。同時除了在RAM容量方有所升級之外，該機在網絡功能上則會在國際版本上加入對LTE 4G網絡的支持，從而能夠帶來更快的上網速度。
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean系統
三星GALAXY Note2還會搭載新版系統登場，同時也是三星推出的首批運行Android4.1系統的機型，其特色是在圖形處理上採用了三重緩衝技術（triple buffering），界面的反應與流暢度上更好，同時利用了多種技術降低屏幕的觸控延遲（latency），並且在主屏幕App管理上也更加方便，以及增加了離線語音輸入，並在拍照功能等方面也有提升。
三星還將為該機提供新型的S Pen手寫筆，主要變化是增加了ePen Grip rubbery功能。能夠讓屏幕認為是指尖觸控，從而使反應更快。同時除了手寫的功用之外，新型的觸控筆還內置通話裝置,並且支持音量控制功能。
提前至九月發布
儘管過去的報導和傳聞都披露三星GALAXY Note2代將會在今年十月份推出，甚至還預言GALAXY Note2將會與蘋果下一代iPhone直接正面較量。但根據gsmarena最新得到的消息是，該機將提前至今年九月份正式面市，其目的在於搶在蘋果下一代iPhone發布前為自己贏得更多市場份額。
而根據過去海外媒體披露的消息稱，該機將可能會在德國IFA2012(柏林國際電子消費品展覽會)上亮相。據悉，IFA2012將與今年八月三十一日正式開幕，這意味三星GALAXY Note2代距離我們已經不再遙遠
